For the past few years now I have put aside some time over the summer break to reflect and write a list of achievements and lessons from the previous year, inspiration from Tim Ferriss as he outlines here. The result is a collection of thoughts and aspirations being written down inevitably leading to a change in how I approach the next year.

I dropped out of school when I was 16 and started cleaning toilets at McDonald’s

From the age of 18, I have managed and owned several businesses.

I worked as a roofer while living in Canada, this gave me a taste for construction and when returning to NZ I gained a building apprenticeship.

At the same time, we owned and ran the Silverspoon, a local restaurant we purchased when it was about to close its doors.

In early 2016 I became a partner in Kiwi Homes, creating much of the company’s systems and processes.

After procrastinating for years, I finally decided to start writing (check out 4 Reasons Why This Blog is Not For Profit).

I will share not only the lessons I have learnt but the struggles I’ve had and how I’ve overcome them. I will revolve around the topics of running a business in New Zealand and living life to your full potential.

By no means am I claiming to have all the answers, I am still working things out as I go along.

Attention is a commodity, now more than ever. I appreciate that I am getting a tiny snippet of yours right now.
